NEW SONG!
The Pains of Being Pure at Heart - Say No to Love (Live at the Bell House)
J Tillman (of Fleet Foxes) Though I Have Wronged You
Beauty. Just amazing.
Best Coast - In My Room
Bethany Cosentino, California’s easy-breezy beachpop queen known as Best Coast, just dropped a 7” entitled Make You Mine on Group Tightener. The four tracks on it are as gorgeous as ever. It’s music that makes one forget how god damn cold it’s about to get (or already is on some days). Here’s the record’s opener, “In My Room.” You can scoop up the 7” here.
Max Tundra - Which Song (Passion Pit Remix)
This sounds like it could be a track off Manners! I really like Max Tundra’s voice better than the PP dude. I saw PP live and let’s just say he cannot sing as well or as high as he does on Manners in real life.
Not music related - but I have recently become somewhat of a photography geek. I took a class, and this slideshow is the best of the thousand pictures I took. Check it out, and love it!
Yeasayer - Ambling Alp
headunderwater:This new track from Yeasayer is fresh off the presses. Upon first listen I was hooked, there is a little more electronic added to the mix but not enough to where you go, “Wow that ruined it for me.”
You can download this FREE from their website http://www.amblingalp.com/ and all you have to do is give them you’re email. Well worth it in my opinion.
Sleigh Bells - Crown On The Ground
These guys got a bunch of hype at CMJ last week - MIA apparently was at one of their shows. I don’t know how I feel. It’s so freaking LOUD it’s almost impossible to listen to with headphones. But, I would be lying if I said I didn’t want to get up and pound out some sweet dance moves to this track.
Surfer Blood!
Surfer Blood, one of the more talked-about bands appearing at this year’s CMJ, caught the eye of videographer Ray Concepcion when they played Piano’s bar during last week’s festivities. Stay tuned to Ray’s Vimeo page, as he’s promised a new video daily for the next fortnight. [via Pitchfork]
Avi Buffalo - What In It For?
Avi Buffalo is the stage name of Avigdor Zahner-Isenberg of Long Beach, Calif., an 18-year-old guitarist and songwriter whose band has just signed to Sub Pop. They’ll be putting out their debut 7” on the Seattle label in December.
